will be tougher days to go

Busy ... I turn my alarm on that by today... there will be more job to do. Assessing the essay and email from 51 students, finishing 2 articles for journal, preparing 2 presentation for CamTESOL  conference on February...    

I need more awaking hours for doing all these...


 I really wish to read all essay carefully and find the strength in these students essay. After getting tired of reading most of their email which do not follow the instruction, the more disappointed I become to continue reading on the next email...

 On their broken English, one of them wrote..

Dear Madam/Sir,

Based on information from lecture of Technical Writing in Padang State Polytechnic . I write this email for you to submit my attachment for final test of technical writing in English department of Padang state polytechnic. In this email, I will be writing an essay abut English for specific purpose. To make an essay well, I have to make introduction, thesis statement, content, argument, and closing. All of these appropriated with the lecturer asked before.

In an essay, the first I did is have to make the outline to help writing it easy, smooth, and have a structure. In outline must be consist of introduction, body, and closing of the essay in point by point. In introduction i must make background and most importantly i must make the thesis statement what the essay talking or explain about. After that, explain about my writing in body paragraph details that appropriated with thesis statement. And than, in last paragraph conclude about the body of the essay and i put my suggestion.

Writing an essay is not easy. We must have bright idea and have more vocabulary. Not only these, we need seriousness and carefulness. This final test of technical writing is very good, because I can improve my writing skill and help lecturer to know skill of me in writing. I hope to be able to learn more with you soon. I became challenged to make a new essay. I would like to enclose my attachment for you.

Heartbreaking is the word I can use to describe how not happy I was ... Yet this quote reminds me that my students have been doing their best. I realized they have done their best for a week on preparing the essay, which outline and references are provided.
